Job Description
As part of the development of its activities and to meet the needs of its industrial projects, OMPLOU CÔTE D’IVOIRE is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager / Quality Control Manager.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
– organizing and supervising laboratory activities;
– carrying out and validating analyses and quality controls;
– overseeing the control of metals and alloys;
– supervising sample preparation;
– ensuring calibration and monitoring of analytical equipment;
– managing standards, certified reference materials (CRM), reagents and consumables;
– performing wet chemistry analyses (titration, assays) and preparing and standardizing reagents and solutions;
– interpreting results and preparing analysis reports;
– implementing and enforcing quality and HSE procedures, including the safe handling of lead-containing samples and hazardous chemicals;
– supervising laboratory technicians.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s to Master’s degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in analytical chemistry, industrial chemistry, metallurgy, materials science, process engineering or an equivalent field.
A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in an industrial laboratory.
Significant experience in metallurgy, lead processing/recycling, battery recycling, foundry operations or metals analysis is strongly required and will be a priority criterion.
Proven experience in wet chemistry analysis, titration, preparation and standardization of reagents/solutions, and laboratory quality control is required.
Proficiency in optical emission spectrometry (OES) and certified reference materials (CRM) is a significant advantage.
Experience in laboratory setup/start-up, preparation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), equipment commissioning and calibration, and the implementation of a quality control system will be highly valued.
Experience in the safe handling of lead-containing samples and hazardous chemicals, along with strict adherence to HSE procedures, is essential.
English proficiency (written and spoken) is a valued additional asset, particularly for communication with international suppliers and partners.
The candidate must be autonomous, rigorous, organized, and able to take operational responsibility for an industrial laboratory.
